FAQs

Here are some of the more common questions I’m asked by clients.

  • It sure is. I love my name, which roughly translates into ‘Little Golden’ in Latin. I was named after a childhood friend of my Portuguese parents (it was his nickname).

  • I currently offer mobile massage services to private clients in the London Boroughs of:

Haringey: Including Crouch End, Harringay, Highgate, Hornsey, Muswell Hill, Seven Sisters, St Ann’s, Stroud Green,Tottenham, and Wood Green

Islington: Including Barnsbury, Canonbury, Clerkenwell, Finsbury Park, Highbury, Holloway, Mildmay, Tollington, and Tufnell Park

Hackney: Including Hackney Central, Hackney Downs, Hackney Wick, Clapton, Clissold, Dalston, De Beauvoir, Haggerston, Hoxton, Stamford Hill, and Stoke Newington

Camden: Including Camden Town, Belsize Park, Gospel Oak, Hampstead, Highgate, Kentish Town, Primrose Hill, and Regent’s Park

Waltham Forest: Including Walthamstow, Leyton, and Leytonstone

Corporate clients: Within the M25 or by special arrangement

  • A mobile massage service takes place in the comfort of your own home. I bring all the necessary equipment with me, and will ask you to provide:

    • a completed electronic consultation form that I will send in advance of your session

    • a visitors’ parking permit if required

    • a quiet and warm space in your home free from distractions to help you relax

    • Minimum 1m x 2m of floor space - a little more than the size of your average yoga mat

    • 2 clean bath towels and 1 hand towel

  • Every session begins with a consultation to understand your needs and to establish what areas you would like worked on; whether there are any conditions needing to be addressed, and to determine if massage is appropriate for you.

I will send an electronic consultation form before your session to better understand your health history. If required, I may perform certain assessments and testing to evaluate your condition and to see if you have any presenting complaints.

It is important you tell me about all health concerns and medications so I can adapt the session to your specific needs without doing any harm. It is also important you tell me about any allergies so I use an appropriate oil.

  • You should not book a massage if any of the following conditions apply to you:

    • Fever
    • Contagious or infectious diseases, including Covid, cold or flu, no matter how mild
    • Diarrhoea and vomiting
    • Undiagnosed lumps and bumps
    • Under the influence of alcohol or drugs including prescription pain medication
    • First trimester of pregnancy
    • Recent operations or acute injuries
    • Infectious skin conditions including chickenpox, monkeypox, scabies etc.

Other conditions may require your consent or written permission from your GP before a massage can be carried out. I will bring this to your attention once you’ve completed your consultation form.

  • You should undress to the level you are comfortable with. For a full-body table massage, many of my clients prefer to be completely undressed. However, if you’re more comfortable leaving your undergarments on, that's fine. I can work around your clothes.

I will always give you privacy to undress and get comfortable on the table.

  • This is your time… most clients close their eyes and relax completely during a session; others prefer to talk. It's up to you.

Make yourself comfortable and let me do the heavy lifting. I will adjust your position throughout the session and will give you clear instructions when the time comes to turn over. Otherwise, you can move any time to make yourself more comfortable.

  • A good massage, even a Deep Tissue massage, shouldn’t hurt. Everyone has their own 'feels good' pressure and an 'ouch' threshold. Communication is key, and I’ll ask about your preferred pressure as the session progresses

  • Please do not feel uncomfortable or embarrassed. I focus on creating a relaxing and therapeutic experience for you, and you can't relax if you are anxious about your body’s appearance.

My massage table is an environment free from judgement, and I welcome all bodies to enjoy the therapeutic benefits of massage.

  • A good massage can have a powerful relaxing effect and some of my clients end up dozing or feeling emotional during their treatment, which is absolutely fine. I’m not one to judge and your session is strictly confidential.

My table is a safe space. If you become emotional, I will ask you if you’d like to stop the session. If you snore, drool or toot during your massage, don’t worry about it. Besides, you’re in your own home.

  • This varies from person to person. If you're looking for occasional relaxation, then a session every 3-4 weeks may be fine for you.

However, if you are looking to address a specific condition, then more frequent sessions may be required at first, gradually working down to a less-frequent, maintenance schedule.

We can discuss the frequency of sessions after your treatment when I have a better understanding of your particular muscular issues.
